GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER
Excessive and uncontrollable worry about occupational or academic activities etc.
Associated symptoms include:
Irritable mood
Restlessness
Fatigue
Memory and concentration difficulties
Muscle tension
Insomnia
PANIC DISORDER
Recurrent panic attacks.
Sudden onset of extreme fear or uneasiness.
Associated symptoms:
Pounding heart
Sweating
Shaking
Difficulty breathing
Choking sensation
Chest pain or discomfort
Nausea or abdominal discomfort
Dizzy or faint
Hot or cold sensations
Numbness or tingling in hands and feet especially
Fear of dying or losing control
SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER
Social situations induce severe fear or anxiety because individuals feel that they are being judged.
Fear that they may embarrass themselves in front of others.
Either the situation is avoided or endured.
SPECIFIC PHOBIA
A particular object or circumstance induces severe fear and anxiety such as spiders, medical procedures, heights.
Exposure inevitably induces the fear or anxiety.
Avoidance or very uncomfortable endurance of the situation.
The reaction is excessive.
