F ANXIETY DISORDERS: Services

GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER

Excessive and uncontrollable worry about occupational or academic activities etc.

Associated symptoms include:

  • Irritable mood

  • Restlessness

  • Fatigue

  • Memory and concentration difficulties

  • Muscle tension

  • Insomnia

PANIC DISORDER

Recurrent panic attacks.

Sudden onset of extreme fear or uneasiness.

Associated symptoms:

  • Pounding heart

  • Sweating

  • Shaking

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Choking sensation

  • Chest pain or discomfort

  • Nausea or abdominal discomfort

  • Dizzy or faint

  • Hot or cold sensations

  • Numbness or tingling in hands and feet especially

  • Fear of dying or losing control

SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER

  • Social situations induce severe fear or anxiety because individuals feel that they are being judged.

  • Fear that they may embarrass themselves in front of others.

  • Either the situation is avoided or endured.

SPECIFIC PHOBIA

  • A particular object or circumstance induces severe fear and anxiety such as spiders, medical procedures, heights. 

  • Exposure inevitably induces the fear or anxiety.

  • Avoidance or very uncomfortable endurance of the situation.

  • The reaction is excessive.
